Minimum overall average grades

The application process at ETH Zurich is very selective. In order to offer prospective students guidance with regard to their chances of admission, the below-listed programmes have determined minimum overall average grades.

  • MSc Data Science
  • MSc Energy Science and Technology
  • MSc Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
  • MSc Mechanical Engineering
  • MSc Nuclear Engineering
  • MSc Process Engineering
  • MSc Quantum Engineering
  • MSc Robotics, Systems and Control
  • MSc Statistics

The programmes have defined minimum average grades for countries outside EU/EFTA with large numbers of applications. If you are studying in one of the below-listed countries and your current average grade is below the published minimum grade, please be aware that your application has no prospect of success.

Important

Please note that an average grade higher than the published minimum doesn't guarantee admission, since the evaluation of an application is always based on multiple aspects.

Furthermore, applicants from non-listed countries are also expected to perform excellently in their undergraduate studies and to be among the best of their cohorts.
