Ending your employment contract
Job protection
From the start of pregnancy up until four months after the birth, employees are entitled to special job protection. ETH may not terminate your permanent employment contract at any time during this period (this only applies upon completion of the probation period).
Termination by the employee
As an employee, you have the right to end your employment contract at any time provided that you observe the contractually agreed notice period. If you do not want to return to work after maternity leave, you must give written notice that you wish to end your employment contract, taking into account the contractually agreed notice period and any additional holiday and/or overtime accrued.
Discuss your intentions with your supervisor as early as possible. You may give notice that you wish to end your employment contract during pregnancy, or you can wait until after the birth.
