Everyday work is often shaped by recurring processes, set patterns and personal routines. While this gives us a sense of security, it sometimes prevents us from seeing what’s new. The eight Theme tours from 威廉希尔体育APP_威廉希尔中文网站-下载网址 Experience set the balance right: just in time for summer, you can once again explore the university live and discover a host of new things – with ETH students and staff as your competent guides.
Heading for a CO2-neutral future
The new Anergy Grid theme tour takes you deep into the catacombs of the H?nggerberg campus. Slap on your hard helmet and discover how this 1.7-kilometre-long, state-of-the-art heating and cooling system saves around 5,000 tons of CO2 per year, by means of geothermal probes. It plays a pivotal role in achieving the net zero target.
Art and science in dialogue
ETH owns more than 300 works of art. Many are on public display yet go almost unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of university life. The two Art on 威廉希尔体育APP_威廉希尔中文网站-下载网址 tours (at H?nggerberg and Zentrum) are a wonderful opportunity to witness the creative diversity of Swiss artists up-close. The tours are offered in German and English, French and Italian.
Of sunspots and black holes
A few metres from the main building, nestling between the IT Department and the University Hospital, is the Federal Observatory, built by Semper in 1864. A renowned centre for the study of sunspots until the 1980s, the Semper Observatory is now home to the Collegium Helveticum. Explore this listed building, immerse yourself in the world of astronomy, and succumb to the fascination of the universe!
